08/05/2004 Archived Entry: "DBZ Seasons 1 & 2"

Here's the report:

DBZ fans, the wait is over. This is probably the most anticipated DBZ item of all times. The first two seasons of Dragonball Z (1 to 53 episodes) that were originally released by Pioneer (present day Geneon) are targeted for release in summer 2005.

The first 3 Dragonball Z movie DVDs, and the first 17 Dragonball Z TV series DVDs have already been out of print since last year, beacuse Pioneer stoped production on them. But recently at Otakon con, FUNimation announced their plans to remaster and re-release uncut, uncensored DVD versions of the first 53 DBZ episodes, which will come out second quarter of 2005. But there has been absolutly no word on the status of the first 3 DBZ movies, yet.

Also in related news, The Dragonball GT movie (tv special) is due on November 16, 2004.

Thanks for spreading the news guys. Yeah, i think the Saiyan Saga is the best saga too, because its the most original. Then the rest of the sagas have the same story line basically based on the Saiyan Saga.

Yah can't wait till the TV special is out in November. thats going to be tight.

Yay! We get to see FUNimation ruin the Saiyan Saga. :D The main reason I'm looking forward to this is to see how weird it will sound with FUNi's voice cast.

At least it will sound better than Pioneer.

No problem Sam. Glad to have another post ;D

GokuBlade, actually they have now just relesed official word. Before, there were rumours spread that they would. It's now confirmed.

Umm who ever owns DBZSC better try to protect their site good because a few of your affiliates have already been hit by Hackers

Cool stuff! I actually have the 3 Pioneer dbz movies uncut/subbed; but I can't wait to see how Funi redubs the episodes! Especially the very first Goku VS Vegeta fight :D

[haven't been on in a long time. lol.]
@~Mystic Gohan~: um...maybe you know something I don't but I checked sc's affiliates. None are in bad shape as I could see. But I may have missed something. Anyway...by suggesting that notion, are you hinting something with the hacker thing? *wink wink* *nudge nudge*

3 of them were down earlier and 2 of them said website not found which isn't too good unless your site has been deleted or switching hosts and niether were switching. BTW *wink* *wink* I have no idea what your talking about

Finelly the uncut epesodes. PLUS the 15UNrelesed epesodes.Ive seen the unrelesed eps.Damn pioneer cut thos for no reason, they had nothing wrong with them.

Im more so excited about the releases because we will get a clean japanese version of them. Ive seen them all uncut before, just not very clear. I dont even want to watch the dub because they will screw up the voices AND the music, as they have already done for the rest of the series.

Posted by nanikozo @ 08/06/2004 03:22 PM EST

@Mystic Gohan: Yeah, ok. Sorry, I was assuming the worst. nvm.

I've been waiting for this moment ever since I first saw the first DBZ episodes. I'm sorry, but IMO, I didn't like the original way the first DBZ episodes were made. I just didn't like the voices and the music got on my nerves. I still own the DVD's. but.......I'm just glad that they are doing this.
