I REALLY, REALLY wish Pan had a better dub. They turned her from an early-teen punk to a plain jane, who wasn't nearly as enthusiastic a person as in the Japanese version. But GT didn't suck in the Japanese version: it was really funny! And then they cut out the humor for the american version. I'm sorry, but what sells best in america? Could it be... comedy? You see, it was there loss because it did badly in Japan.

Please, DBGT was bad in general. Shitty to be more precise.

The animation is piss poor, the plot was sub- par. If you can call it that.

And on top of that the best part was when it ended.

and to some guy way back, Toriyama does indeed dislike DBZ now. He not only doesnt wanna make more he wanted to stop it after a volume or two of DB. But everyone says "I liek money do more" so he did.

BTW many, MANY, MMMMMAANNNYYY shows are better than DBZ. Broaden your horizons.

Yes we must move on from Dragonball but that doesn't mean we must forget about it. I still dont think all the anime in the world could match the dragonball series. Its still by the way the longest animated series in tv/manga history.

I think you guys know the right answer. The guy who wrote astroboy might be the godfather of anime, but if he is, Toriyama has got to be like... The King, or the god or something. (And for all you who say Toriyama 'doesn't like DBZ anymore' then let me explain this to you:
no mangaka "Stops liking" there show or "gives up" on it, the fact is that every one of them has a vision for the stories "TRUE ENDING" and Toriyama worked past that under pressure. So I don't think he hates Dragonball in the least bit: for goodness sakes, he's the father of DRAGONBALL. He just worked past what HE saw as the "true ending" because the peoples wanted more. That's just the fate of a truely dedicated mangaka.

there are alot of bad, okay, good and great animes out there. alot of good anime (according to themself) are not in the popular search because they are not known to many. pokemon is popular because of the show aims at kids, they will tend to watch since they have more time to watch it. anime aim at teen-adult tend to be less popular since they are mostly busy. you can also define what you mean by best anime and popular anime. most people watch anime for their genres not whether the plot is well written or not. they might be popular but not the best and might be the best but not popular. true for shows on tv or movies. for me, db has been there for long, since 1986 or so, whether it is consider the best or not, who know, but i know its very very popular. naruto and alchemist is growing in popularity but are they on the list of best animes and for how long? others i think are good anime but not popular: trigun, gto, yu-yu-hakusho, rurouni kenshin, blue seed, dragon knight, full metal alchemist, fire emblem, hack//sign, hundred stories..etc. there would be more debate if they have the least search anime rather the the most.

Also, the reaosn you dont see RK and Yuyu Hakusho and such in the lycos 50
is because they are not liked by all ages. You will see Dragonball likened by ages 10-50. Yuyu appeals to a much younger crowd, as well as RK.
